Discovered at the Critics' Week, in Official Selection in 2023!

Director Justine Triet will present her fourth feature film ANATOMY OF A FALL in Official Competition. She had presented VICTORIA as the opening film of Critics' Week in 2016.

Also in competition, Ken Loach, with his latest film THE OLD OAK, who had been discovered with KES at Critics' Week in 1970.

Alongside them at Cannes Premières, director Katell Quillévéré, who presented SUZANNE, her second feature film, as the opening film of Critics' Week in 2013, will present her new film LE TEMPS D'AIMER. Also at Cannes Premières, the great return of Victor Erice with CERRAR LOS OJOS, cult filmmaker of THE SPIRIT OF THE BEHIVE presented at Critics' Week in 1974. Finally, Valérie Donzelli will present her sixth feature film JUST THE TWO OF US after DECLARATION OF WAR, opening film of the 50th edition.

Just Philippot will present ACIDE in Midnight Screening after THE SWARM, his first feature film presented at Critics' Week in 2020. Another Midnight Screening, Elias Belkeddar with his first feature film OMAR LA FRAISE, developed at Next Step in 2018 after the selection of his short film A WEDDING DAY, Canal + Award 2018. Anna Novion will also present her third feature LE THÉORÈME DE MARGUERITE in special screening after her first feature GROWN UPS selected in competition at La Semaine de la Critique in 2008.

Two filmmakers discovered at Critics' Week with their shorts will present their first features at Un Certain Regard: Molly Manning Walker with HOW TO HAVE SEX, Next Step Prize 2020 after the selection of her short film GOOD THANKS, YOU? and Felipe Gálvez with LOS COLONOS, who participated in Next Step in 2018 after the selection of his short film RAPTOR. Also at Un Certain Regard, Jean-Bernard Marlin will present his second feature film SALEM, after SHÉHÉRAZADE presented as a special screening of the 2018 Critics' Week.Then, after GUY, closing film of the 57th edition of La Semaine de la Critique, Alex Lutz will present his third feature STRANGERS BY NIGHT as closing film of Un Certain Regard.

Finally, we warmly congratulate Kaouther Ben Hania, president of the 61st Critics' Week, who presents in Official Competition her new film LES FILLES D'OLFA.
