Libertad, Clara Roquet's first feature film, was presented in competition at the 60th Semaine de la Critique in 2021. Since its world premiere in Cannes, the film was selected at the Jerusalem International Film Festival, the Rome International Film Festival and the Tokyo International Film Festival. It has received two Goyas, Spain's highest distinctions for films: Best Debut Film and Best Supporting Actress for Nora Navas.
Nora's quiet life is turned upside down when, during her summer holidays, this naïve 15-year old comes across Libertad, also 15. This new, intense friendship between the two utterly different girls will guide them towards adolescence.

« At first, I had a hard time not looking at the characters of Libertad and Rosana from an outsider’s point of view. I decided to tell the story from Nora’s perspective, as she enjoyed all the privileges Libertad never had. My film questions whether friendship can really overcome social and cultural differences. All the characters position themselves according to their awareness of their own privilege. »
« A story about class differences, the meaning of freedom and who grants it, Libertad marks the much-awaited feature debut of Clara Roquet, an in-demand Spanish screenwriter. »
