Michael Borodin

Michael Borodin was born in Toytepa, a small town near Tashkent. In 2010, after graduating from university, he moved to Moscow to study filmmaking. In 2018, his short film Normal was selected at La Semaine de la Critique. He then participated in Next Step in 2019 with his feature debut project Convenience Store which premiered at Berlinale Panorama in 2022. The same year, Michael moved back to Uzbekistan, where he founded Tashkent Film School and SESTRA Films, an independent production company.
