Laïs Decaster
Laïs Decaster grew up in Argenteuil. At Paris 8 University, she directed J’suis pas malheureuse, the portrait of a group of girls (première Fenêtre Award at Cinéma du Réel). She works across documentary and fiction, blending genres. She directed Elles Allaient Danser, Soirée Mousse, Une Histoire de Plage, La Peau Dure. Her short documentary Car Wash won the Jean Vigo Award and was nominated to the 2026 César. Her films bring contemporary young women and their voices to the fore.
Laïs Decaster is currently writing her first narrative feature film, which will be produced by Christmas in July and Lorca Production. She is currently working on the treatment.
