Ali Cherri

Born in Beirut, Ali Cherri is a filmmaker and sculptor based in Paris, whose work is exhibited in major museums around the world. In 2022, he was awarded the Silver Lion at the Art Venice Biennale. That same year, his first feature film, The Dam, was presented at Cannes as part of the Directors’ Fortnight. He then directed the short films The Watchman, selected at the 2024 Rotterdam Film Festival, and The Sentinel, presented at Cannes' Semaine de la Critique in 2026.
