In the lead-up to this 64th edition, CINE+ OCS, - the result of the merger of OCS and CINE+ - is delighted to pursue the official partnership first established by CINE+ with La Semaine de la Critique; a natural alliance between two film institutions that share a common mission: to discover and promote the emerging talents of international cinema. A filmmaker’s first work is always a commitment, a statement of belief that we are proud to support; and discovering a new talent remains a beautiful reward, filled with the promise of a lifetime in cinema. This why, over the last several years, we have supported the early careers of filmmakers such as Xavier Giannoli, Guillaume Brac, Charlène Favier, Elie Grappe, Julie Lecoustre et Emmanuel Marre, Vincent Le Port, Mikhaël Hers, Caroline Poggi & Jonathan Vinel, Alice Diop, Jonathan Millet, Dyana Gaye, and many more…
Justine Triet’s flawless rise to international recognition is a testament - if any proof were still needed - to the importance of our cinematic model. We are especially proud to have stood by her side throughout her career - promise made, promise kept.
Once again this year, we are thrilled that CINE+ OCS has been involved from the screenwriting stage with all the francophone films selected at La Semaine de la Critique: Kika by Alexe Poukine and Nino by Pauline Loquès, and the films featured in the special screenings: Adam’s Sake by Laura Wendel, Love Letters by Alice Douard, and finally Planets by Momoko Seto, three very different films, all supported by Canal+ and CINE+ OCS.
A wealth of cinematic works that champion diversity, and which we continue to support passionately, a lasting companionship in cinema, ensuring that its history continues to be written in the present.
May this year’s selection allow us to discover the filmmakers of tomorrow and to share with our subscribers the exceptional films that will emerge.
Wishing you all a wonderful Semaine de la Critique 2025!
