Clémentine Charuel
Clémentine Charuel is a French composer. Her style, at the crossroads of classical and experimental music, allows her to explore rich and varied sound worlds that enhance emotion and storytelling. Her recent projects include the score for the feature film Cherry, directed by Sophie Galibert (Audience Award at Tribeca 2022), for which she was nominated for the U2C Young Talent Award 2025, as well as the short film Esprits Tranquilles, directed by Julien Lecat and co-produced by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, which will premiere at the Psarokokalo International Short Film Festival in July 2026. In 2026, she composed major segments of the original score for the feature film Trompe-La-Mort, directed by Rocco Labbé, which will be released in theaters soon (distributed by Metropolitan), and is currently composing the score for Turkish director Alkim Özmen’s debut feature My Happy Family, co-produced by Black Boat & White Boat Pictures and supported by SACEM. With experience within the music teams of more than thirty major films and series, Clémentine has an in-depth knowledge of every aspect of creating music for picture. She has notably composed for series such as Marie-Antoinette (Canal+), Astrid & Raphaëlle (France 2), Pax Massilia (Netflix) and Joseph (TF1). In 2024, Clémentine joined the César Academy, and the Orchestre Colonne commissioned her to write an orchestral overture. She has also served on several juries, including the 2025 Musique & Cinéma Festival in Marseille, the 2025 film music class jury at the Paris Conservatory, and the 2024 Pass Sésame Composer jury of La Maison du Film.
