Philippe Barrière

Scriptwritter and script consultant

Born in 1978, Philippe Barrière has a Masters in philosophy and formal logic at La Sorbonne University. Script consulting is a way for him to combine his interest for analysis and his passion for cinema. Over the past years, Philippe Barrière has had several relevant experiences in the field of script consulting such as head of the development for Mille et une Productions or, since 2010, as an independent script consultant. He works for several script development workshops, such as La Scénaristerie, Full Circle Lab, Cannes Talent Unlimited and Le Groupe Ouest.

Matthieu Darras

Lab/residence director

As director of TATINO FILMS, Matthieu Darras leads and has created several programs of film/talent development and consultancy, active worldwide: The First Cut Lab, the Pop Up Film Residency, and the Full Circle Lab. Previously, he founded & directed the European Network of Young Cinema NISI MASA, wrote for the film magazine Positif for fifteen years, and was the artistic director of the TorinoFilmLab until 2018. Matthieu Darras worked for major film festivals in Europe: as member of the feature film selection committee for La Semaine de la Critique, as consultant for the Venice Film Festival, and as delegate for the San Sebastian Film Festival. He has also held the position of Artistic Directof of Bratislava Film Festival.

Nadja Dumouchel

Scriptwritter and script consultant

Nadja Dumouchel is a script writer and story editor based in Berlin. She currently co-writes several feature films, Last Trip by Ziad Kalthoum, the series Berliners together with scriptwriter Nicolas Ducray, produced by La Onda (Paris), as well as documentary projects and literary adaptations. She collaborated on the script of Sons of Ramses by Clément Cogitore that premiered at Semaine de la Critique in 2022 and wrote the documentary series Art Stories, broadcasted by ARTE in 2019. Nadja studied visual culture, literature and cinema in Brighton, Berlin and Valencia. She was trained as a story editor at Torino Film Lab in 2012 and has since then been working on scripts from all over the world. She is consulting and tutoring for various filmlabs and co-founded La Scénaristerie in 2014, a development hub for screenwriters based in Paris. She previously worked as a commissioning editor for ARTE. Since 2020 she teaches script writing and dramaturgy at Filmuniversität Konrad Wolf in Babelsberg, Germany.

Fabio Grassadonia

Director and scriptwriter

Fabio Grassadonia is a Sicilian writer and director, working with Antonio Piazza in an filmmaking duo. Their first feature film Salvo premiered at the 2013 Semaine de la Critique, winning two prizes, the Nespresso Grand Prize and the France 4 Visionary Award.  Their second feature film Sicilian Ghost Story opened the 2017 Semaine de la Critique and secured distribution in many countries. They are currently in post-production of their third feature film Iddu (Indigo Film - Les Films du Losange)

Matthieu Taponier

Scriptwriter and film editor

Matthieu Taponier is a Franco-American script consultant and film editor. After studying Modern Literature in Paris, he completed an MFA in filmmaking at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. As a script consultant he received training at the TorinoFilmLab’s Script&Pitch program and has since been tutoring in workshops such as the Critic’s Week “Next Step”, DFI’s “Hezayah Screenwriting Lab” and Le Groupe Ouest (“Puissance & Ame”, “LIM - Less is More”). His film credits include Son of Saul by László Nemes (Grand Prix Cannes 2015, Golden Globe, Oscar and BAFTA 2016 Best Foreign Language Film), Nemes’ second feature Sunset (FIPRESCI Venice 2018), Adventures of a Mathematician by Thorsten Klein (Palm Springs 2020) and Beginning by Dea Kulumbegashvili (Cannes label 2020, FIPRESCI TIFF 2020, Golden Shell San Sebastian 2020).

Olivier Barbier

International sales

After completing a master’s degree at EDHEC Business School, Olivier started working in the film industry in 2012, joining Wild Bunch International as sales executive. Olivier is now Head of Acquisitions at mk2 films.

Every year, mk2 films coproduces and sells a dozen new films by established or promising directors such as Portrait of a Lady on Fire by Céline Sciamma, Atlantics by Mati Diop,The Worst Person in the World by Joachim Trier, Alcarras by Carla Simon.

Mk2 films also distributes a unique library of 800 films around the world which includes films from Charles Chaplin, François Truffaut, Abbas Kiarostami, Agnès Varda, Claude Chabrol, Krzysztof Kieślowski, David Lynch, Michael Haneke, Gus Van Sant to name a few.

Agathe Valentin

International sales

Agathe Valentin has a track record of more than 18 years in sales. She was head of sales at Films du Losange for 8 years, selling among other titles, The White Ribbon (Palme d’or, 2009) and Amour by Michael Haneke (Palme d’or 2012, Best Foreign picture, Oscar 2013). She joined Pyramide in 2015 and worked on many first features including The Wound by John Trengove (Sundance 2017) and Bloody Milk by Hubert Charuel (Critics Week, 2016).

In 2018, she co founded, Totem Films, a sales and production company. In 2021, they sold Compartment N°6 by Juho Kuosmanen (Grand Prix, Cannes 2021) all over the world. Agathe is now working as a free lance. She is also in Arte France Committee, house of representant of the Academie des César and Vice President of Aide aux Cinemas du Monde of the CNC distribution committee. Agathe is a member of EAVE network and a regular speaker at industry events, film festivals and workshop.
