Revealed at La Semaine de la Critique, part of the Official Selection this year!


Julia Ducournau will be in the Official Competition of Cannes Film Festival with her second feature film Titane. In 2016, she was selected at La Semaine de la Critique with her first feature film Raw (Grave) and in 2011 with her short film Junior.

By her side, Justin Kurzel, in competition at La Semaine de la Critique in 2011 with Snowtown and in 2005 with his short film Blue Tongue, is selected in the Official Competition with Nitram, his fifth feature film and Nadav Lapid, with Ha'Berech (Ahed’s Knee), revealed at La Semaine de la Critique in 2014 with his second feature The Kindergarden teacher (Haganenet).

Hafsia Herzi, will present her second feature film Bonne mère at the Certain Regard. In 2019, she was selected at La Semaine de la Critique in Special Screening with her first feature You deserve a lover (Tu mérites un amour).

On the other hand, Jean-Christophe Meurisse will be in Cannes Film Festival with Bloody Oranges on Midnight Screenings. He was selected in special screening at La Semaine de la Critique in 2016 with his first feature film Apnée.

Shlomi Elkabetz will also be in Cannes Film Festival with Black Notebooks in Special Screenings. He made the opening of La Semaine de la Critique in 2014 with Shiva (Les 7 jours), codirected with Ronit Elkabetz.

Cannes favourites filmmakers Andréa Arnold, Leos Carax, Jacques Audiard, François Ozon and Arnaud Desplechin, also revealed at La Semaine de la Critique, will be at the Cannes Film Festival this year!

We are also truly delighted to learn Jonas Carpignano is selected at Director’s Fortnight 2021 with his film A Chiara, revealed at La Semaine de la Critique in 2014 with his short film A Ciambra (Sony CineAlta Discovery Prize) and his first feature film Mediterranea in 2015.
