The 65th San Sebastián International Film Festival opens its doors today and several directors discovered at La Semaine de la Critique are featured in the selection.
- Two of the feature films in competition in 2017 at La Semaine de la Critique will make the trip to the 65th edition of the San Sebastián International Film Festival: Gustavo Rondón Córdoba's LA FAMILIA and Marcela Said's LOS PERROS will both be shown in the Horizontes Latinos section.

- Regarding directors discovered at La Semaine de la Critique in previous years, we are pleased to find in the official selection, LIFE & NOTHING MORE, Antonio Méndez Esparza's new feature film, who was in competition in 2012 at La Semaine de la Critique with AQUÍ Y ALLÁ, with which he won the Nespresso Grand Prize.

- In other sections:
- LA CORDILLERA (THE SUMMIT), Santiago Mitre's third feature film, winner of the Nespresso Grand Prize with PAULINA (LA PATOTA) in 2015 at the 54th Semaine de la Critique. The film is to be screened within the Donastia Award Special Screenings section.
- In the Horizontes Latinos section, Natalia Garagiola will show TEMPORADA DE CAZA (HUNTING SEASON). She was selected in competition at the 51st Semaine de la Critique with her short film YEGUAS Y COTORRAS.
- And finally, in the Zabaltegi - Tabakalera section, two directors revealed at La Semaine de la Critique will be featured:
- 3/4 by Ilian Metev, discovered during the 51st Semaine de la Critique in 2012 with SOFIA'S LAST AMBULANCE, awarded then with the France 4 Visionnary Award.
- BRAGUINO by Clément Cogitore, winner in 2015 at La Semaine de la Critique of the Gan Foundation Support for Distribution with NI LE CIEL NI LA TERRE (THE WAKHAN FRONT).
