In 2023, for the 10th edition of its Next Step Workshop, La Semaine de la Critique is launching Next Step Volume II, with the support of Sacem, and in partnership with the agri/cultural fabbrica Providenza.
This second workshop will take place between the 25th and 30th of September 2023 in the agri/cultural fabbrica Providenza, created in 2016 by Antoine Viviani in a gorgeous chestnut grove between the villages of Piève and Rapale, in Northern Corsica.
This purposefully hybrid workshop is the opportunity for 5 international filmmakers and 3 composers to meet around the vital stage of rewriting the script.
Directors and composers will spend a week to rework their script and work on score composition with the help of consultants and experts. They will also be encouraged to think about their score very early on, as an integral part of the script, and a rich artistic counterpoint.
