Gitanjali Rao's BOMBAY ROSE to open the Venice International film festival's Critics' week

Gitanjali Rao's awaited first feature animated film will open the Critics' Week of the Venice International Film Festival. Gitanjali Rao, after her selection in 2014 with TRUELOVESTORY at the 53rd Semaine de la Critique, was part of the 1st promotion of Next Step, where she started developping BOMBAY ROSE.
Hence, this selection rewards a patient work of many years in the making and we are delighted to see this ambitious first film make its world premiere in such prestigious venue.

With BOMBAY ROSE, Gitanjali Rao keeps on developping love intrigues that seem impossible, using the Bollywood dream factory as a backdrop for romance:

"Amidst the struggle of survival in a big city, a red rose brings together three tales of impossible loves. Love between an unavailable girl and boy. Love between two women. Love of an entire city for its Bollywood stars." (synopsis)
