Aftersun in french theaters !

Aftersun, the first film of the scottish filmmaker Charlotte Wells, released in theater on Wednesday, February 1st. Selected at the 61st edition of La Semaine de la Critique, it has been awarded by the French Touch Prize of the Jury, which aims to bright young filmmaker audacity and creativity to light. 

Its great success at Cannes and in worlwide festivals gave Paul Mescal an oscar nomination for best actor this year. It received also the "Coup de Cœur des Cinémas Art et Essais" mention by the AFCAE. It is distributed by Condor, produced by Pastel et sold abroad by Charades.

Synopsis
Sophie reflects on the shared joy and private melancholy of a holiday she took with her father twenty years earlier. Memories real and imagined fill the gaps between miniDV footage as she tries to reconcile the father she knew with the man she didn’t.
