Louis Roederer Foundation Rising Star Award

Created in 2011 and presided by Frédéric Rouzaud, the Louis Roederer Foundation supports contemporary artistic creation and the transmission of knowledge.

It provides steadfast support to the Bibliothèque nationale de France, the Jeu de Paume in Paris, the French Academy in Rome – Villa Medici, and Villa Albertine in the United States. Through the Discovery Award at the Rencontres d’Arles photography festival and the Rising Star Award of La Semaine de la Critique at the Cannes Film Festival, the Louis Roederer Foundation plays an active role in promoting emerging artistic talent. Thanks to its Photography Research Grant at the Bibliothèque nationale de France, its support for international researchers at the Institute for Ideas & Imagination in Paris, and its global Thinking Sustainability programme, the Foundation contributes to a deeper understanding of the world and to fostering greater mutual respect.

The Foundation is also active across the wine estates of the Roederer Collection by initiating artistic and cultural initiatives specific to each site. To further strengthen its dedication to the arts, the Louis Roederer Foundation is building its own collection of works by both emerging and established artists, whether represented or not, and offers “carte blanche” collaborations in various artistic fields.

In 2026, as it celebrates its 15th anniversary, the Louis Roederer Foundation is pleased to continue its commitment to contemporary creation alongside its long-standing partners, while inaugurating new cultural initiatives open to the public.

“Nine years ago already, with the team of La Semaine de la Critique, we created the Rising Star Award, which we hold most dear. Each year, it finds, encourages and rewards a young actor or actress for their promising debut with the aim of revealing the rising stars of tomorrow. We are delighted to once again stand alongside La Semaine de la Critique to celebrate a double anniversary: the 65th edition of La Semaine and the 15th anniversary of the Foundation!”
