Phuong Mai Nguyen

Originally from Vietnam, director Phuong Mai Nguyen graduated from Les Gobelins and La Poudrière. She co-directed the 30-episode series adaptation of Pénélope Bagieu’s comic book Brazen, broadcast on France Télévision in 2019. She works regularly with other directors on their storyboards and as a graphic artist for animated films and series.  She has directed several short films, including Under the Same Roof, pre-selected for the César Awards, and shortlisted for the Academy Awards in 2016. In Waves is her first feature film.
