Born in 1972 in Leiden, he studied German language and literature studies, French and journalism in Germany and France. In 1999, he is part of the co-foundation of the film production company Risingstar. In 2001 he directed his Blindgänger , a short film, and in 2003 he worked on the directing and the production supervising of the feature film Energy Blast produced in Uganda (Africa). His documentary Menschen brauchen Hobbies is nominated for the "Silver Wolf Award" at the Amsterdam International Documentary Film Festival. He graduated in directing from the HFF "Konrad Wolf" Potsdam-Babelsberg in 2005. Pingpong is his first feature film.
