Juan Pablo Villalobos

Mexican director, screenwriter, and cinematographer Juan Pablo Villalobos is known for his interest in uprooted characters. His short film ¿Qué ha sido hasta ahora tu continuo errar? (2020) won an award at the Black Canvas Festival, and Xquipi (2023) received Best Mexican short film at the Morelia International Film Festival before being presented at the 2024 Semaine de la Critique in Cannes. In 2023, he was selected for the Filmmakers Academy of the Locarno Film Festival, and he is currently developing his first feature film, Ladrones de Cuadros, selected for the Catapulta programme at FINCUNAM 2024.
