Elena López Riera

Born in Spain in 1982

A visual artist and filmmaker, she holds a PhD in Audiovisual Communication. Her short film Pueblo (2015) premiered at the Directors’ Fortnight and The Entrails (2016) at the Locarno Film Festival. Her short LOS QUE DESEAN (2018) won several prizes such as Pardino d'oro Prize at the Locarno Film Festival and was nominated at the European Film Awards. She has worked as a programmer for the Belfort Film Festival - Entrevues, The Seville European Film Festival and Visions du Réel Film Festival. The Water (2022) her debut feature-length film premiered at the Directors’ Fortnight
