Next Step Prize
from short to feature films
The 10 filmmakers of this year’s programme will be invited in December 2020 to take part in the Next Step workshop, whose purpose is to assist short film directors towards making feature films. Since its inception the workshop launched and led by Rémi Bonhomme has supported 55 filmmakers from 29 different countries.
La Semaine de la Critique is delighted to announce the winner of the Next Step Prize, awarded to one of the filmmakers who has developed her last feature film project since last December, during the 6th session. The members of the jury are: Michèle Halberstadt, distributor at ARP, Bérénice Vincent, co-founder of the international sales company Totem Films and Mathieu Robinet, distributor.
The winner is Camille Degeye’s SPHINX (France), produced by Société Acéphale. The winner receives a 5,000€ prize towards developing her film and will be invited to the 2021 Cannes Film Festival to promote her project.
