About Ultra Pulpe (Apocalypse After)

by Léo Soesanto

Bertrand Mandico’s cinema is a constant trip into other eras and other worlds; it relentlessly draws its beauty from what is usually considered unwholesome in films – from B (and even C) movies, to queer films, to cartoons and creates filmic freaks as it blends these elements. Ultra Pulpe invites us onto a movie set as surreal as the film it is supposed to produce – drawing upon Joe D’Amato, science fiction and a post-nuclear-apocalyptic world and conveying unbridled sensuality in its overcharged and rapturous visions that will floor the audience.
