About Kolektyviniai sodai (Community Gardens)

by Thomas Fouet

A fire starts on a warm summer afternoon, both a visual presence – seldom has fire seemed so present on screen – and a story, something to look at. What is it? What has been lost? What is this fickle flame, this sweet – and somewhat persistent – combustion of the bond between a father and his son? One could say that this film hangs on by a thread, but my, what a thread. One could even call it grace.
