In 2015, after a first selection at La Semaine de la Critique with ALLES WIRD GUT (EVERYTHING WILL BE OK), Patrick Vollrath took part in the 2nd promotion of Next Step where he could developp his first feature film project 7500. Patrick Vollrath will premiere 7500 at the 72nd Locarno Film Festival in the Piazza Grande section.
In this ambitious action thriller, Patrick Vollrath directs Joseph Gordon-Lewitt, an aircraft pilot who sees his plane hijacked by terrorists.
Through its Next Step programme, La Semaine de la Critique guides the short-film directors who were selected for the competition towards their first feature film. Next Step is a 5-day workshop held in France in December. During the workshop, the filmmakers have the opportunity to discuss their projects with international experts and tutors so that they may be advised on their scripts, to understand the reality of the industry and define the right development strategy.
