THE UNKNOWN SAINT, a slapstick western

Alaa Eddine Aljem’s THE UNKNOWN SAINT, a feature film premiered during the 58th edition of La Semaine de la Critique, is currently in cinemas (Condor Distribution). This first, burlesque feature has already sold over 38,000 tickets in France since it was released, and after being screened at over twenty festivals (BFI London, Sydney Film Festival, Bogota International Film Festival), this film was sold in a dozen countries including Turkey (Filmarti), the Baltic States (A-One), Switzerland (Trigon) and Greece (Ama Films).

« "The performances from a mix of pros and non-pros are stylized in such a way that they succeed in providing the film’s gently satirical, burlesque tone. Much of the humor comes from visual appearances and physical."
