Nous brûlons is the ABC of mad love composed of eight stories that revolve around the mania and addiction to love. The film takes us on a journey and introduces us to a Viscount from Béarn in love with his mother-in-law in 1572 with a tragic destiny, of a feverish meeting between a shepherd and his lover in a foundry, or of an obsessive and threatening fan of a classical dancer.

Much like his previous films, which embraced our great many differences and told far-reaching, queer stories, Nans Laborde-Jourdàa returns with new tales that follow in the footsteps of Boccacio’s The Decameron and Barthes’ A Lover’s Discourse: Fragments.
The fragmented nature of the film allows for different stories, tastes, and visuals, towards an even freer outline of amorous fanaticism. Our relationship with desire - a hallmark of Nans’ work - takes on a new, darker, and more serious tone. Partly set in the Pyrenees, the director's homeland, which he holds so dear in his films, these melancholic landscapes take centre stage. With his very own vibrations, he forges a new cinematic language.
