Nadav Lapid won the Golden Bear at the 2019 Berlinale

The closing ceremony of the 69th Berlin International Film Festival took place on last saturday, February 15th, and the International Jury was head up by french actress Juliette Binoche.

Nadav Lapid has been awarded by the highest prize, the Golden Bear for his feature film SYNONYMS, about a young Israeli man in Paris who has turned his back on his native country. 

Nadav Lapid was selected for a special screening at La Semaine de la Critique in 2014 for his feature film THE KIDERGARTEN TEACHER and in 2016 for his short film FROM THE DIARY OF A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER.

An other "alumni" of La Semaine de la Critique has been awarded in Berlin : the Silver Bear Grand Jury Prize went to François Ozon for BY THE GRACE OF GOD, a fact based drama about victims of child abuse in the Catholic Church in France. François Ozon was part of la Semaine de la Critique in 1996 with his short A SUMMER DRESS and again in 1998 with his first feature SITCOM.
