Zinat a young girl who works at a health centre in one of southern rural areas of Iran, is planning to get married. The family of her fiance, Hamed, does not want Zinat to keep her job after marriage, and Zinat’s efforts to convince Hamed that her job will not affect their family life remains futil. Zinat's family also announces they are against her work at the health centre, partly out of fear of offending Hamed's family. Finally, Zinat consents to give up her·job. She gets married and settles down to a family life, and apparently all differences have been resolved. But underneath the calm appearance the conflicts continue to overshadow Zinat's relations with her husband.
