Born on May 27th, 1980 in Oulu (Finland)

Born in the north of Finland, Mikko is a poet and a filmmaker. After graduating in 2012 from the ELO Helsinki Film School, he directed several short films screened in festivals such as Locarno, Tampere and Helsinki. He wrote Juho Kuosmanen’s first feature, The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki, selected in 2016 for Un Certain Regard. He came back to Cannes as a director with his short film Tiikeri, which was competing at La Semaine de la Critique in 2018.
