Emmanuel Bourdieu began his career in film as a screenwriter : Comment je me suis disputé... (ma vie sexuelle) and Esther Kahn, directed by Arnaud Desplechin, Place Vendôme directed by Nicole Garcia, and recently Il est plus facile pour un chameau... directed by Valeria Bruni Tedeschi. In 2001 he won the Prix Jean Vigo for Candidature, a medium-lenght film he wrote and directed. Alongside his work in film, he writes and directs for theatre. In 2004, he wrote and directed his first feature film, Vert paradis. Les amitiés maléfiques (Poison Friends) is his second feature film.
