The Louis Roederer Foundation was founded in 2011 with the purpose of strengthening Louis Roederer’s sponsorship activity, which followed on from its discovery of the photography collection of the Bibliothèque nationale de France in 2003.

“Major Patron of Culture and Arts”, the Foundation supports outstanding cultural actions undertaken by recognised institutions in France and abroad. It has demonstrated a deep commitment to the Bibliothèque nationale de France, the Réunion des musées nationaux – Grand Palais and the Jeu de Paume, in Paris. The Foundation takes part alongside the French Academy – Villa Medici in Rome, and recently the Villa Albertine in the United States.

The Foundation is also committed to shine a light on burgeoning artists through the BnF Photography Research Grant, the Discovery Award at the Rencontres d’Arles, the Deauville American Film Festival Revelation Prize and the Rising Star Award of La Semaine de la Critique in Cannes.

“Six years ago already, with the team of La Semaine de la Critique, we created the Rising Star Award, which we hold most dear. With this prize for young actors and actresses, we contribute to the acknowledgement of talented up-and-coming artists.”
