Several directors revealed at La Semaine de la Critique nominated at the Film Independent Spirit Awards

The nominations to the Film Independent Spirit Awards have been announced and several directors revealed at La Semaine de la Critique are amongst the nominees:

  • In the running for best first film, OH LUCY! by Atsuko Hirayanagi, in competition at the 56th Semaine de la Critique, a bitter-sweet comedy with the wonderful Shinobu Terajima (also nominated in the best actress category).

  • LIFE AND NOTHING by Antonio Méndez Esparza will compete for the John Cassavetes Award. Antonio Méndez Esparza had won back in 2012 the Nespresso Grand Prize at La Semaine de la Critique with AQUÍ Y ALLÁ, a family chronicle remarquable for the accuracy of its tone.

  • Also competing the John Cassavetes Award, A GHOST STORY, the 3rd film by David Lowery, who came in 2013 at la Semaine de la Critique with AIN'T THEM BODIES SAINTS.

  • Without forgetting Jonas Carpignano, nominated in the best directo category with A CIAMBRA, his feature film supported by the Next Step programme.
