1947. Lutzbach, a small town in Odenwald, in the American zone, south of Frankfurt. Hans Kolp, a sixth former, is the friend of a black G.I, Jack, who is accomodated by his parents. Two years after the war, most commodities are still in short supply, from cigarettes to many food products, from engines to parts. The black market prevails.
One day, as Jack is demobilized, he returns to the U.S., leaving his uniform and a gun to Hans as tokens. Hans is first led to various traffics by other boys of his age. Then, emboldened by his successes, he puts on Jack's uniform during his adventurous nights and he will progressively reach a situation from which he'll never be able to step back.
