Discovered at la Semaine de la Critique, the “Godfather” is a director who is now experienced and comes back to Cannes to meet the young filmmakers of the current edition in order to support and advise them.

At first, the Godfather’s Day ended by a screening of the film la Semaine de la Critique had discovered the unknown director with back then (like with Adieu Philippine by Jacques Rozier for example).

Lately, this screening has been an occasion to present new films; recent work of the Godfather (Destricted, the short film compilation by acclaimed artists and directors including Gaspar Noé) or films directed by upcoming filmmakers following the artistic “tradition” of the Godfather (Hierro by Gabe Ibáñez for the new Spanish Genre cinema).
